Hey! My gratitude to Lynda E for pulling in various audio contributions while she was recently on sabbatical, traveling through various countries and broadening her NGO experience! Even with reduced technical resources, she managed to convey the concept to potential contributors and capture some very interesting audio. The welcome side effect of her action was to keep me enthusiastic about this project, even with various distractions this summer, medical and otherwise.
Now that the distractions are again few, I reached out to the rest of my work family at Traction on Demand. It’s a rare company in which I would feel comfortable inviting co-workers to contribute to an off-the-wall conceptual art project, and, at the same time, be confident that I would get a generous response. Which I did! It’s a diverse enough company that I expect we will collect dozens of languages just from within Traction, let alone as we venture out into our greater social networks.
I’ll soon have enough contributions to exercise the audio editing pipeline, and see how that works. My plan is to manually stitch together a proof-of-concept that will convey the intended audio experience. After that, I will need programming help to build the on-the-fly audio segment concatenation and streaming service that will power the live, on-demand version of ICOY. I’m counting on you to help…
